Located on Lake Champlain, the North Hero Lake House was originally built as a family summer retreat.  The owner / builder wished to transform the house into a modern and spacious home, suitable for year-round use.  The design included a main living space with an open kitchen, living, and dining room connected to the outdoors with large sliding doors facing the lake.  A new master bedroom suite and guest bedroom complete the program.

The living and sleeping quarters of the house are separated by a breezeway with large overhead glazed doors at both sides.  This breezeway is used as Owner's home office, and provides ample views of Lake Champlain and to the woods out back.  The large sheltering roof creates a dramatic setting for indoor/outdoor living.  Construction work was not quite complete when these photos were taken.
