125 south 31st street - Laboratory Shell/Core

This project turned a long unoccupied electrical transformer repair plant into a facility to house scientific research laboratories. The primary facades were completely redone to add glazing and to create a prominant entrance .

From the lobby, a gentle ramp leads to the central circulation spine, where new skylights and openings in the second floor bring natrual light into the building center. Exposed structural steel is balanced with natrual wood and vibrant colors, creating a space that is contemporary while acknowledging the buildings past industrial use.
